I decided to start doing a monthly round up of all the new beauty products I have tried + a short review on each one! I figured this way it would be super easy to have everything in one place. I included the prices and took them into consideration when rating the products. Let me know if this is helpful and if I should continue to do these posts!
5 Stars
- 111 Skin Pollution Defense Booster ($135) You’re probably thinking, “This better get 5 stars for being $135” haha, and it is. I kept getting dry patches on my forehead and nose from wearing the N95 mask and face shield. Once I added this product into my routine, the dry patches went away! Nothing else has worked.
- Amazon Seamless Nylon Fabric Ponytail Holders ($7) I bought these when I ran out of my old drugstore hair ties. I like how soft they are, and that they don’t pull out any hair or give me headaches!
- Billie Razor ($9) I wanted to see what all the hype was about and my razor needed a step up. I absolutely love the Billie razor and think it works rally well – so smooth and I haven’t knicked myself yet. I wouldn’t say it cuts down on shaving time though like some reviews say, but I wasn’t expecting that.
- Billie Shaving Cream ($8) I will never use another shaving cream! SO good, my skin has not been dry like it used to after shaving.
- Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral Body Sunscreen ($15) I was hesitant to try another mineral sunscreen after a bad experience with a different brand but this one is completely different – no white coat, oily feeling or bad sunscreen smell and it WORKS!
- Cardon Clay Cleanser ($19) This is actually a mens cleanser that I got for a collab. Ryan says it made the bumps on his forehead go away so he likes it. I tried it out too and liked it too! I always love trying face masks and cleansers made with clay.
- Fresh Beauty Sugar Advanced Therapy Treatment Lip Balm ($26) By far the best lip balm I have tried. So hydrating!
- Jill Stuart Beauty Lasting Curl Blossom Waterproof Mascara in Black ($20 with code COLLEEN20) I am amazed with how well this mascara works! It has flecks that extend your lashes and add immense volume. My only complaint is that it is hard to remove, but it still gets 5 stars.
- Jill Stuart Beauty Moonlit Dew Highlighter in shade 05 ($24 with code COLLEEN20) this highlighter is so pretty, lightweight and natural looking.
- Mademoiselle Provence Body Lotion ($20) Made with shea butter, this lotion feels more expensive than it is!
- Mademoiselle Provence Smoothing Hand Cream ($11) So hydrating and smells really good!
- Moroccan Oil Dry Shampoo for Blondes ($26) This is by far the best dry shampoo I have ever tried. It has a purple tint to it so it makes your hair look more blonde and not gray or white like other dry shampoos. Also comes in a regular and dark version!
- Olaplex Bond Smoother ($28) My hair stylist recommend this to help repair split ends and keep my hair healthy. It is literally a miracle worker!
- Payot Self Tanning Lotion ($24) This is a more gradual self tanning lotion that you can easily layer. Doesn’t smell bad at all and doesn’t stain clothing etc! More natural looking than Isle of Paradise.
- Rovectin LHA Blemish Ampule ($15) Super hydrating serum that also helps lighten dark spots. Affordable too!
- Rovectin Lotus Water Cream ($20) Such a hydrating moisturizer! Clean ingredients and affordable price.
- Sol De Janeiro SPF SOL Stick ($26) Such a good SPF for lips! Smells amazing too.
- Tula Blackhead Scrub (under $28 with code COLLEENCOOK) I am SO glad Tula came out with a blackhead scrub because I get blackheads all the time. This gets them out and smells so good you will want to taste it! I have a blog post about it here.
- Tula Cleansing Oil (Under $28 with code COLLEENCOOK) Makes taking off makeup easy. Super gentle but gets off all make up and isn’t irritating to eyes.
4 Stars
- Fresh Beauty Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence ($32) This is a great anti aging product that protects against blue light. I really like it but just think its a bit pricey!
- Fresh Beauty Vitamin Nectar Antioxidant Face Mist ($44) Such a good product for summertime! I just wish it came in a smaller bottle at a lower cost.
- Byroe Bitter Green Essence Toner ($60) I like this toner a lot especially the fact that it is green so it helps with redness. However, it made my skin a tiny bit sticky and I just like my Tula one better. This is still a great product though and is so hydrating!
- Jill Stuart Beauty Lip Gloss in Rose ($15 with code COLLEEN20) This lip gloss is pretty! My only complaint is that it doesn’t stay on long and is a bit pricey.
- Mademoiselle Provence Silky Body Wash ($12) This body was is really hydrating, but I was a little disappointed in the smell – doesn’t exactly smell like peonies or even what the lotions smell like but still a good product.
3 Stars
- Billie Make Up Wipes ($9) These make up wipes did not live up to the reviews for me – I don’t think they are anything spectacular, and defiantly overpriced. They don’t get all of my make up off. I will stick to Tula!
- Moroccan Oil Body Scrub ($39) This is very expensive for a scrub that is just descent. It is cool that it turns from clear to white when it gets wet, but it doesn’t compare to the Lush scrubs.
2 Stars
No 2 star products this month haha.
1 Star
- Amika Fadeblock Pre-shampoo Color Seal ($25) This is the only product I gave 1 star because I REALLY didn’t like it. I had gotten it for a collab and had to contact the company because I could not promote this product. The brand was understanding luckily, and it does have really good reviews so maybe mine is just one of the few bad ones haha. But I tried this once and once was enough – it made my hair feel strange, like it had a coating overtop. It’s hard to explain but basically I didn’t like how it made my hair feel. So I can’t give a testament to whether it actually works to protect color or not, but I didn’t want to keep using it.
I hope this review was helpful! Please let know if I should continue to do these posts monthly in the comments below!
