WE’RE MARRIED! My top Wedding Highlights

My wedding was the absolute best day of my entire life and I am so happy to be married to my best friend! I’ll be sharing a lot more later on, but wanted to share some highlights of our wedding!

the very best day of my life

I knew having a big wedding would be fun, but I was not prepared for just how much fun I was going to have. I literally had the time of my life and danced the entire night. It was the best experience having all my family and friends together in one place. Leading up to the wedding, I wondered if the expenses would be worth it, and honestly to me it was worth every penny. I don’t think I will ever stop talking about how much fun I had!

highlights/favorite things we did

The entire night was so much fun, but there were a few parts that were my favorite!

  • Writing and reading our own vows – Ryan did tear up a tiny bit when he went to read his vows, which I was not expecting. I was crying the entire time. I am SO happy we chose to write our own vows and read them at the ceremony in front of everyone – believe me I had my doubts! I loved hearing and watching Ryan read his vows and it will forever be one of my most cherished moments of my life. Our ceremony was so sweet and personal, and our guests found it special too.
  • Having one of my best friends officiate our ceremony – We debated hiring a “professional” for this, but knew our ceremony would be super short and we wanted it to be more personal. Ryan and I also did not feel comfortable having a stranger “marry” us. Luckily one of my best friends Katie offered to step in. She was so perfect for the role and made our day so special!
  • Sweetheart table at dinner – I knew Ryan and I would not have much time just the two of us at the wedding, so I decided I wanted us to have our own table for dinner. Our DJ suggested we finish eating dinner before getting up and greeting people because we would not sit back down. I’m so glad we took the time to sit and eat dinner together because I felt like it was the only “relaxing” part of the wedding.
  • Spending the whole night on the dance floor – I stayed on the dance floor for almost the entire reception! We spent so much money on the wedding, and I wanted to make sure I enjoyed every minute.
  • Splurging on the venue – Ryan and I both agreed from the start that the venue was one of the most important things for our big day. We looked at over twenty venues, and fell in love with Lauxmont Farms in PA. Our specific venue was all outdoors, with the ceremony out on the grass overlooking the Susquehanna river, the cocktail hour spread out on the grass, brick patio, and little garden with a stream. Our reception was underneath an open tent with a brick ground. We had yard games which people played throughout cocktail hour and the reception, so I think our guests really enjoyed the destination too.
  • Hiring a month of coordinator – since we had to book all of our venders individually, I knew having a short term planner would make the day run so much more smoothly. This is one of my biggest wedding tips! My coordinator Rachel stepped in about 8 weeks prior to our wedding and helped with everything we asked. She came up with a detailed timeline for the day, ensured our venders had everything together and made the whole experience so much more special. I felt so much more comfortable and less stressed during the wedding day because of her!

more to come!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who was able to make it to our wedding, we were so glad everyone was able to celebrate with us and make our night so special. For anyone who reached out to congratulate us, I am so appreciative! I could not have asked for a more perfect night.

Say tuned for many more wedding posts, my next one bring an in depth review of all of our venders!
