The Nordstrom Sale is now open for Icon members! If you missed my previous posts, I shared an intro to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale here with all the info, and my wishlist here.
Initial Thoughts
Now that I have gone through the entire site and browsed Nordstrom in person, I can share my initial thoughts on the Anniversary Sale!
- Clothing: I don’t normally do a lot of shopping in the clothing section, I just don’t think the sale has a great clothing selection. It’s more closet staple pieces that will last you for years and never go out of style. A few things I think are worth noting: Spanx leggings, Barefoot Dreams Cardigans, bras, one Free People skirt, and I did find one Free People sweater I love but am worried it will sell out by the time I can shop. I was actually able to find a lot of clothing items (mostly tops) last year, which is unusual and I feel like this year is especially disappointing for clothes.
- Shoes: I always stock up on boots during the Nordstrom sale – Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack are really the only stores I shop at for shoes. I am SO picky with shoes – so I don’t mind spending more money on them just because it is so hard for me to find them! I was mainly looking for a pair of tall black boots and white sneakers. I didn’t like the tall boots in person, but found two pairs of black booties I love. I do have one pair though but wore them everyday last year, so I will probably buy at least one of the pairs I tried on today. I also loved the pair of white Tory Burch sneakers I tried on which is good because that’s the number one thing I need the most this year! I just hope they don’t sell out.
- Accessories: There’s a few cute Tory Burch bags but nothing I really need. If I buy anything, it would be a pair of sunglasses or the Kendra Scott heart hoops. I think the selection is descent, about the same as last year.
- Beauty: SO many good beauty items this year and products I use every day. I’m going to stock up to save money later on! I think the selection this year is better than last year.
- Home: Love the barefoot Dreams blankets but I really don’t need another blanket so probably won’t be buying any home items. I don’t think the selection is that great except for the blanket selection – Barefoot dreams came out with more styles and prints and there’s a few really good Ugg ones too.
Overall, I think the Nordstrom sale had a better selection last year but I still think there are some rally great, note-worthy items. Depending on what is in stock, I will definitely be buying multiple pairs of shoes (probably 3-5 pairs), a few beauty items and maybe 1 or 2 accessories.
