A New Season of Change

A new season of change

It’s been nearly one year since I published a post on my blog, and a little over a year since I welcomed my second child into the world. What a whirlwind of a year it has been – the transition from 1-2 kids and caring for a colicky, refluxy, allergy-prone baby has quite literally taken nearly every ounce of energy from me. I feel like I only had about 5% left of me to give to every other aspect of my life this past year. Aside from all of the challenges, of course there have been so many amazing moments that just melt my heart as a mom of now two. If anything, I have a greater appreciation for all of the happy times and everything else that is good in my life.

Everyday has its difficulties but I feel like I am finally at a point in my life where I can start focusing more on myself and my own happiness and well being, and I am learning just how important it is to take care of myself. I have so much I want to share in the upcoming months – I want to share the fun parts, like sharing my favorite clothing brands. However I also want to share the difficult and honest parts about becoming a mom of two and having a difficult baby. I love being a mom so much and talking about motherhood so I look forward to having more time to do that soon!

Our family will be going through a few changes this school year and I’m trusting they’ll all be for the better. Thankfully, my work schedule is finally changing. After 7+ years I will finally no longer be working night shift (!!!). I will still be working as a mother baby nurse part time but will only be working day shift. For the first time in four years I will also have a set work schedule, so I am really looking forward to having more structure and routine in my life. B will also be starting preschool part time, and for the first time in almost 4 years I will have more than a few hours to myself multiple days every week. Three years ago I would have panicked knowing this would be my reality today sending my one year old to school. But to be honest I have really struggled trying to balance being a “mostly stay at home mom” with also working 1-2 nights each week, on top of what feels like so many other layers of new challenges. so I am really hoping this will continue to feel like the best decision for my family and I can’t wait to bring you along with me!

Please let me know if there is anything specific you would like to hear about, from having a baby with severe reflux, to breastfeeding, favorite baby products etc feel free to leave any feedback in the comments!
